Parents & Community Members,

Just a quick update on a few things happening in the district right now...

- I know a number of you have asked about when registration for next year begins. We are currently moving over to a new student data system called Skyward. This is a major undertaking for us, and it's something that's very tedious. Bottom line is that if we don't have it set up correctly, registration is not going to go well. Please give us a little more time. We hope to be able to announce when registration will open by the end of this week.

- Currently the high school, middle school, and elementary school are fully staffed, with regards to teachers, for next year. The intermediate school still has a couple of hires to make.

- Our five new buses should be arriving just in time for school to start.

- At our last board meeting, we had to make some changes to days and the start/end times of the campuses. You can find a copy of the updated calendar below, as well on our website.

- We are continuing to have issues with the HVAC system at the HS. If you'll recall, part of the system was down for two months this spring, forcing teachers and kids to move to do different parts of the building that weren't very conducive to learning. We now have another part of the building completely down, and we hope to have it up and running by the time school starts. This system is an old geo-thermal system that's incredibly expensive to maintain and finding parts isn't always easy. The pump that went out this spring cost the district $30K to replace, and it had to be built. During COVID, the district spent over $1M in maintenance on this sytem, in an effort to solve some of the ongoing problems with it. At some point, we're going to have to make a very hard (and expensive) decision regarding this system, as we fully expect to continue to use this facility for years to come.

We will continue to update all of you as the summer progresses. Hope all of you continue to have a safe and fun summer!
