The Body Mechanic

Dear Whitefish,
Words cannot express how honored I am to be voted Best Physical Therapist and Best Physical Therapy Clinic in Whitefish.
When I was in school, I swore I would never be a business owner. But as I started early in my career I was drawn to wanting so much more for my patients than I knew I could give them in the traditional clinical settings I started in. The Body Mechanic has been truly a dream come true.
I dove into Functional Manual Therapy early in my career to better understand how to treat the body as an integrated system. My interest and craving for depth and knowledge in treating the body as a whole has only grow from there.
I am grateful for the classes I have gotten to take and all my clients who have entrusted me with your care. I truly learn so much from each and every one of you and I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing community.

What does your pelvic floor need?!?
Pelvic floor therapy has become a very big buzz word over the last couple of years. I love that it has because I think so many more women are seeking treatment after birth for prevention of future issues and seeking treatment for issues that have been deemed normal like leakage, prolapse and pain with in*******se.
I am posting as a reminder that when pelvic issues arise, treatment of the pelvic floor itself is often essential BUT the pelvic floor (like everything) is a part of the whole body.
Common areas of the body that can contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction
-The rib cage including the ribs themselves, the diaphragm, the thoracic spine and fascial restrictions of the organs in the rib cage like the liver, stomach, spleen, lungs and heart
-Abdominal organs like the small intestines and large intestine
Pelvic organs like the bladder, uterus, re**um
-Hips
-Knees
-Feet
-Cranium
-Every other part of the body :)
So the moral of the story is that pelvic dysfunction likely has a local component but also a distant component that is impacting it. All of it needs to be addressed. What needs to be addressed in your body depends on your history and your body’s story 💕

Coming off of an amazing weekend focused on cranial nerve manipulation.
The intricacy of the neural, fascial and bony structure in the cranium are utterly amazing. These nerves weave through facia and intertwine with each other to help with sight, hearing, balance, smell, facial expression and even organ function 🤯.
My favorite technique of the weekend (not pictured): Mobilization of the OPTIC nerve through the eyeball. Sounds a little daunting but so gentle and crazy effective for not only things like
-Migraines
-Problems with the eye
-Sinus issues
But also…
-ADD and dyslexia (helps with eye focus)
-Hormones (the optic nerve has facial connections to the pituitary gland which is a big hormone gland)
-Resting heart rate and blood pressure (this nerve has connection with the reflex for changes in heart rate and blood pressure).
See….utterly AMAZING!!!
Highlight of the weekend: getting to be in a classroom full of inspired practitioners who love the body as much as I do 🎉
