With a unique vision, solution oriented approach and with the help of a handful of exceptional volunteer community members in Whitefish, Montana this initiative became a reality known as The Ride Guy, an incorporated 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization. The Ride Guy Inc. drivers and vehicles are commercially insured to transport passengers. Approximately 4500 hours are given each year by volunteers in
the Whitefish community in support of The Ride Guy Inc. Mission.
46,000 safe rides were given in 2013 & 2014 in a town of 6400 people. We think its safe to say we have made a difference. vision is to expand its unique operation by providing a working model for others to follow. We believe that if the time is put in, "regular people" just like we are can put on a cape and be a Super-Hero too. We believe that anyone can be affected by someone's decision to get behind the wheel when they shouldn't. We aim to offer solutions and attempt to stop situations before they happen. Imagine the difference we could make if we all worked together...
The Ride Guy initiative network has directly and indirectly helped thousands of people within the community including businesses, tourists and emergency services. Our personnel strongly believes that no matter ones economic position, background and history anyone should be able to make positive decisions and feel like they are able to help their communities wherever they can. This is a one of a kind program that many people in the community depend on, it comes from a good place and that’s why it works, it's that simple. Whitefish has seen its share of transportation attempts already. Six regulated taxi services have given up in 6 years in the Flathead Valley and it is pretty clear to us that there are flaws in the current system. After careful consideration and watching taxis come and go in Whitefish our founder knew The Ride Guy didn't want to go down the traditional path that other services in our area had previously attempted. The Ride Guy needed to have the ability to create it's own system to get different results. If you stop and think about it, The Ride Guy does more for the community than provide a ride service with no fees. The Ride Guy directly helps the local economy by simplifying the transportation needs of thousands of new and existing Whitefish visitors and residents. By providing our services to the community we help these people focus on where they are going and not how they are going to get to and from their destinations. This makes visiting businesses easier which has a positive impact on the local economy of hotels, restaurants, retail stores and the Nightlife. The Ride Guy personnel regularly encounter unique opportunities to promote these businesses while performing routine service. This allows our personnel to positively guide potential customers into making informed decisions on where to go and what to do while in Whitefish. Imagine how many people actually ask The Ride Guy personnel where to eat, where to shop, or what events are happening? The answer is simple, A lot... Everyday.
