A custom-built grill guard and bumper for a custom-built 4x4!

My client had been telling me for the last few years what he intended to buy, he said that when he bought the truck he would ask me to make the bumper for it!

We worked together on the design, it was fabricated, test fit x4, sandblasted and the powdercoating was done by

This was a really fun project, I still have a couple more updates to share for this one!

The truck also has a engine and manual transmission!

With the passing of 2024, I would like to, instead of share a highlight reel (I just dont have time, lol), share a project that embodies the spirit of all the work I do.

These are more previously unreleased photos of FPO v26.0

Challenge, emotional transparency, and a little bit of levity have always been the cornerstones of my work. Thank you all who followed along and expressed interest in my art and my business this last year. Thank you to my clients who ordered little things, big things, and absolutely big-giant-massive things. Thank you for buying a few robots off the shelves. Thank you for giving me countless opportunities to metalwork my way out of the problems you gave me to solve. It was another record-setting year, and I had a lot of fun. 🙏 🤖

Welcome to all of you new followers from that welding cart video, I promise my other work is way more interesting.

Articulate Robot FPO v26.0 was completed years ago. This robot was something of a thesis statement; he is bigger, better, more complex, and comprised of hundreds of handmade steel and stainless parts. He has shock absorbers in his arms and legs, and most of his rotating mechanisms work on spring-loaded pins shooting into indexed holes. The stand and base on which he mounts is articulate as well. His eyelids even have gearing within his head, opening and closing with little levers. I clocked him in at a little over 800 hours of my time, while most of my other works were finished between 200-300. I built him over the course of one year and coated him with a blackening patina to finish. He is, obviously, completely articulate and stands taller than me.
