Alita K. Butcher, 92, of Wethersfield, CT beloved wife of the late Louis Butcher to whom she was married for fifty years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026. She was born in Hartford on July 5, 1933, daughter of the late Anthony J. and Ruth (Bratton) Brewer.

Alita was the consummate mother and housewife, the meaning of which has lost its true value over time. She was always there for her four children and virtually raised her granddaughter Nicole. She loved cooking and baking for her family even when times were lean. She also loved sewing, often times the clothes our family wore, as well as knitting and quilting, but most notably she had an amazing green thumb and spent hours gardening to the delight of the family and our neighbors. Alita also loved traveling with family and friends and especially loved our vacations to the beaches at Siesta Key, Florida and more recently at Point of Woods.

Alita, Mom, Mimi’s passing will leave a hole in our hearts which only time will heal, but we can take comfort in knowing she is in a better place. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her but always remembered for the love she showered upon us so unselfishly.

Alita leaves behind her loving daughter Kathleen M. Sinisi and her three sons, Louis Butcher, Jr., Anthony S. Butcher and Gerald K. Butcher and his wife Mary. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Nicole Sinisi, Thomas Butcher, Margaret Butcher and her husband Greg Hall, Audrey Woods and her husband Tyler, Ashley Butcher and her fiancé Dom Zboyovsky, and Emma Coleman and her husband Kevin, and her beautiful little great grandchild, Isla Woods, who unfortunately she never had a chance to meet.

Alita also leaves behind her brother Thomas Brewer and his wife Tana, her sister-in-law Marci Grzadzinski and her sister-in-law Paula Brewer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished, but she especially loved the times she spent and telephone calls with her nieces Melissa Lantz and her husband Barry, and Amy Vann and her husband Matt.

Finally, Alita leaves behind her life-long friend Lois Young, which the word friend truly does not define the closeness of their relationship or the similar interests which they shared.

It is with profound sadness, yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary (Kelly) Campanello on April 28, 2026, at the age of 92. Mary departed this world surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and celebrated by all who knew her. Born on March 18, 1934, in Hartford, Connecticut, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Julia and John Kelly. She was also predeceased by her cherished siblings, Dennis Kelly and Shelia Beeson. Mary carried with her the warmth and strength of her Irish heritage, which she embraced and shared throughout her life. Mary was the devoted wife of John P. Campanello, Sr., with whom she shared an extraordinary 71-year marriage. Together, they crafted a life filled with love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to family. Their union, which began on June 5, 1954, blossomed into a remarkable legacy that includes four adoring children: John (Louann) Campanello, Jr., Dennis (Donna) Campanello, James (Suzanne) Campanello, and Jennifer (Rob) Lewis. Her family was the heart of Mary’s world, and she was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and the doting great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren. Her warmth and tenacity, combined with a quick wit and a feisty Irish temperament, endeared her to all generations. Her thoughtfulness and loving heart were the cornerstones of her character, and she possessed a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished. Mary’s journey began with an education at Hartford Public High School, followed by her early work with the Fuller Brush Company. She was a dedicated member of her community, spending many joyful years as a lunch aide at Greenfield Elementary School and Corpus Christi School in Wethersfield. Her role allowed her to keep a watchful eye on her rambunctious children, ensuring they thrived in a nurturing environment. Mary’s life was a tapestry of service, love, and devotion, not only to her family but to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her brother, Francis Kelly, survives her, carrying forward the familial bonds that were so important to her. A celebration of Mary’s remarkable life will be held on May 1, 2026, at Dillon Baxter. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness, humor, and indomitable spirit.

Funeral service for Mary will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 12pm at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
