Our fifth and final Careers in Sports Summer Institute day was spent at Florida Atlantic University where Bertram King hosted us to a fantastic day that featured academics, campus life, and athletics. Students learned about the admissions process, tourney the campus, and visited a freshman dorm room before experiencing the student rec center. We then made our way to the Florida Atlantic Football facilities where we heard from a fabulous panel made up of members of the Florida Atlantic Athletics leadership team and toured their stadium. Students saw everything from field level to the visiting team locker room, press room, the Presidents Suite, press box and ultimately made their way to the photo deck on top of the stadium. This was the perfect way to bring an amazing week to its conclusion.

We can not be any more proud of our students for their commitment, dedication, and engagement and we certainly cannot be any more grateful for all of our partners who opened their doors and shared their time and knowledge with this incredible group. Day 2 of our Careers in Sports Summer Institute brought us to St. Thomas University where we spent the day with STU Sports Administration. Our students learned about the admissions process, toured the campus and then engaged in a mock press conference where they covered several of the school’s student athletes. We asked questions, operated cameras and developed social media posts inspired by the press conference.

Additionally, Vira Edwards, Manager of Football Communications for the Miami Dolphins, shared her personal journey through the industry, answered questions and provided invaluable advice and perspective.
