Law enforcement service is rarely carried by one person alone. Families, especially children, share in the challenges, sacrifices, and proud moments that come with the profession. This month, we celebrate and honor them.
The National Fraternal Order of Police is proud to partner with Gratitude Initiative and fellow law enforcement organizations for the inaugural Law Enforcement Child Month, recognizing and honoring the children and families who serve alongside our nation's law enforcement officers every day.

The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police is proud to support the launch of the first-ever Law Enforcement Child Month this July in partnership with the National Fraternal Order of Police and Gratitude Initiative.
Throughout Colorado, thousands of children grow up in law enforcement families. They experience the unique challenges that come with this profession, including missed holidays, long shifts, late-night calls, and the uncertainty that can accompany a parent’s service to their community. Their sacrifices often go unseen, but they are an important part of the law enforcement family.
Law Enforcement Child Month is dedicated to recognizing, celebrating, and supporting the children of law enforcement officers across our state and nation.
We encourage Colorado law enforcement agencies, FOP lodges, auxiliaries, community partners, and supporters to join us in recognizing these remarkable children throughout the month of July. A simple gesture of appreciation can make a lasting impact.
To help make participation easy, Gratitude Initiative has created a free Law Enforcement Child Month Toolkit filled with ready-to-use resources, activities, and awareness materials:

Together, we can ensure the children of Colorado’s law enforcement families know they are seen, valued, and appreciated.
