Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. As we honor the day when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom, we also recognize the responsibility to preserve and advance its legacy. Through education, advocacy, community engagement, and cultural programming, IDAAC Indy works to uplift Black history, empower future generations, and promote equity throughout our community. This Juneteenth, we celebrate progress while recommitting ourselves to the work that still lies ahead.

When you have the front row seat and know what is going on you can speak truth to power. Thank you to both of Obamas and their family for showing us what it takes to maintain grace, dignity, and patriotism. I am awed I got to witness it in my lifetime.
