What do you value most in a church community?

The church's role in society has shifted dramatically. Gone are the days when it was automatically the center of our communities. This reality invites us to reflect: What does it mean to be the church in a fragmented world?

Here’s the truth: loneliness and isolation are increasing, fueled by rapid technological changes. In 2011, the average person spent 32 minutes daily on their mobile devices. By 2019, that number skyrocketed to 132 minutes. Social media connects us, but it doesn’t always foster the deep relationships we crave.

The good news? The church can lead the way in building meaningful relationships. By fostering spaces where people feel truly known and valued, the church has a unique opportunity to offer what our world desperately needs: belonging.
It begins with asking questions:
- How can we counter isolation and rebuild community bonds?
- How do we use technology to enhance, not replace, personal relationships?

As leaders, we’re called to prioritize relationships rooted in Christ’s love. Imagine creating a culture where love and accountability thrive—a space where people feel they belong. That’s the challenge and the invitation of this moment in history.
