I'll keep saying it... I have the best students on the planet. At today's Business Talk lecture for Graphic Design 3, students wanted to know how someone develops their own style and also get out of creative blocks. Luckily, I had plenty of resources and life experiences to refer to during our hour long talk before they went into client teamwork for the rest of the day. One resource I always like sharing is a book called "Inspirability" by Pash. In the book Pash interviews 40 designers, asking them the same dozen questions and includes transcripts and bio info to give insight on what inspires the top creatives. Students filled out my variation of the questionaire and we shared our favorite question as a class on the board... Here are the results of my SUPER TEAM! What superhero power would you want? A little bit about my piece: The Ampersand Diversity series pairs each diptych together based on the paint swatch names. The ampersand is one of the most powerful symbols of visual communication. In a time when many people look to take away other people's freedoms and exclude rights to love and of identity, the ampersand's role is to bring people and things together in an inclusive way. Davis Walker Creative has been very busy designing the City of Westerville's upcoming Comprehensive Plan. This 200 page document will be released to the public soon for their input. As part of the plan's design, photographs were needed to capture all aspects of the city.

Our summer intern, Tyla Rowen, an Otterbein University Photography major has been hard at work running around town to capture the essence of Westerville. Most recently, Steven and Tyla went to "great heights" - literally!

Whether it is scaling hundreds of feet in the air or in a canoe in Alum Creek Park, our interns really get a hands-on unique experience.

Davis Walker Creative just delivered another batch of Beloved Memories Games to participants in Marion, Ohio. To date, we have created 132 games through the Beloved Memories grant. We are close to meeting our goal of serving 200 people with Alzheimer's and/or dementia. If you know of someone who would benefit from a free memory game, please let us know. We would love to talk with their family and learn about their amazing life. Even if you feel the person is too far gone for the game to be effective, benefits of the game go well beyond the person with memory loss - it has helped family members/caregivers bond with their loved ones and heal as they reflect on the photos they collect.
