At Salem Woods, our dedicated staff never ceases to amaze us, especially during challenging times like the recent winter storm. Mark Banchy and Robert "Boots" Boots, went above and beyond to ensure our residents received the care they deserved.

Mark Banchy, who is approaching his 41st work anniversary, walked 2.2 miles through snow and freezing temperatures to get to work on time. His reason? “I knew the residents needed to have clean laundry, and I was determined to make sure they had what they needed.”

Meanwhile, Boots, one of our amazing cooks, faced a similar challenge. Scheduled as the PM cook, he saw cars struggling to make it up the icy hill to our building. Determined not to let our residents down, he laced up and walked 1.8 miles uphill to ensure he made it to work, ready to serve.
