A regular customer in Lake Oswego recently scheduled a service appointment for their U-Line refrigerator because it had stopped making ice.

When we notified them that the technician was on the way, they let us know the unit had just started making ice again and were considering canceling the appointment. Since the appointment was already scheduled and within our cancellation window, a service call fee would have applied. They decided to keep the appointment to make sure everything was working properly.

During the inspection, our technician found that no parts had actually failed. Instead, the ice box door was not fully closed and the ice bucket was not seated correctly, preventing the unit from operating as intended. After making these adjustments, the ice maker was back to functioning properly.

The visit was completed under the standard service call fee, and for added peace of mind, our 90-day warranty now covers the service call fee if the same issue returns and another visit is needed.

Sometimes the solution is simpler than expected—but having a trained technician verify the cause can save time, frustration, and unnecessary repairs.
