🌴 California vs Utah 🏔️

I’ve flown out to do many projects over the years and the “toss it we can replace it” vibe I grew up with is still going strong in CA. In UT getting rid of stuff is basically a felony 😝

The difference is fascinating.
This is MY theory:

🌴 California
Smaller spaces → less storage → faster turnover Most families have 1-2 children and less space to hide stuff. They prioritize wellness + minimalistic living. Projects are more visual, minimal to no clutter, and fall under “aesthetic organizing.”

⛰️ Utah
Bigger homes → basements → large families=
Memories, keepsakes, and passed down treasures.
Food storage & stockpiling.
Generational habits and UT culture created . . .
Saving = Prepared = Responsible!
BUT
Utah leans more into sentiment, tradition and prioritizes FAMILY! Thats how Simply Sorted was born with family at the forefront of everything we do 🥹

❤️ A few comforting truths:
Your home is not a storage unit for the past.
You have permission to let things go.
Letting go doesn’t erase the memory, it simply frees the space while the love stays with you.
You’re allowed to break old habits and still stay true to your values.
You’re allowed to prioritize your mental health over objects.
