meCycle, request it and send the gym manager to this page! WHEN is the class? No set times or dates! Through Facebook & flyers (at the YMCA) the next ThemeCycle will be announced. This is an EVENT, people! Is it for ANYONE? Adults only, please (and of course if it's at the Y you need to be a member). There is a 15 minute beginners class prior to the work-out for 1st timers to get to know 1) their bike and the bike set up, 2) proper hand and feet positioning, 3) how NOT to injure yourself and 4) The various cues given from the instructor during the 60 minute to 80 minute class. What should I expect? You will burn mucho calories! ThemeCycle is F-U-N but first and foremost is IS an intensive work-out. Each 1-hour set starts with a short work-out and ends with a stretching cool-down. The class is instructed by Tommy D, a certified cycling instructor at the Barnstable YMCA (certification from the American Aerobics Association, and the International Sports Medicine Association.)
