Sometimes I get imposter syndrome about my particular flavor of marketing strategy. There's so many more ✨️shiny✨️ ways of doing things out there, and BOY do people like shiny things.

But then I get a phone call from someone who found me on Google, visited my website and socials and decided to hire me before they even spoke to me.

• I've prepared the soil (planning & strategy)
• I've planted the seeds (my marketing ecosystem - socials, enews, website)
• I nurture the seeds regularly

And then all that's left is to wait.

You do this over and over again, and it's bound to feel less and less exciting over time. But you know what IS exciting? When that little seed turns into a sprout and you get an inquiry from someone who is primed and ready to hire you because of all that "boring" stuff you've been doing.

Virality is fun, but doesn't convert people into clients.

Paid ads can be effective, but are only successful in short bursts.

But showing up in strategic places regularly, repeating your core message over and over and slowly rooting yourself into people's implicit memory means when they need the thing you provide, you're the one they think of.

My hair started going gray in my mid-20s. I'm not gonna lie, it used to mildly horrify me 😅 I didn't know it could start that early, and I hadn't even had kids yet! But these days, I try to embrace it as a reminder that I have the exquisite privilege of aging.

It's not easy to navigate the culture of perfection we're surrounded by these days, and the pressure to snip this and sn**ch that as a woman over 35 is *real* you guys. But as I watch our world get swallowed up by AI-generated EVERYTHING, I'm choosing to lean in to the things that make me human. The things that will someday make me unique when everyone else looks exactly the same.

And I truly believe at some point, it's going to be the reason my business (and my clients' businesses) stand out too. So cheers to all the weird, wonderful, wild things that make you YOU!
