Thank you to our Creative Arts and Sciences Team and the PTO for bringing the Bionic Project to Schofield last week.

The mission of the Bionic project is “to create a more inclusive world for everyone, regardless of physical ability. We dismantle disability bias, build empathy, and foster connection through education, story and sport.”

The Bionic Project presented two school wide assemblies (K-2 and 3-5) and then had follow up workshops in the Grade 3-5 classrooms. Grades 3 and 4 talked about designing inclusive playgrounds. Grade 5 learned about designing sports stadiums to be inclusive, with a focus on Gillette. 5th grade also played adaptive soccer and had a lot of fun!!

5th grade had an exciting visit from New England Sci -Tech on Friday. The planetarium show was set up in the gym and our students learned about all things space: astronomers, constellations, planets, galaxies and got to hold a real meteorite rock from outer space!
