[CW: transphobia] Heartspace affirms the inherent sacred worth and dignity of all people, especially our trans and non-binary siblings at Wellesley. We are proud to be a part of a community with people of many genders and gender expressions.

Joining with other Unitarian Universalist organizations across the country, we also express our deep concern for the anti-trans legislation that has been sweeping across the United States and the harmful rhetoric that continues to dehumanize and demean trans people, even at this school.

We echo the responses of many other student organizations and communities on campus: that trans, non-binary, and genderqueer students have always been a part of what makes Wellesley, Wellesley, and will continue to be forevermore.

Our organization expresses our unequivocal support and love for the trans people in our lives, especially here at Wellesley: you exist, you matter, you are loved, and you are welcomed.
