Adopted April 28, 2006 by the Board of Directors of Live Ear Ministries. Victor and Benoite Vodounou were born in Benin, West Africa, where they grew up. They are of the Fon tribe of Central Benin. They have been naturalized United States citizens since 2001, but have always wanted to carry the Gospel to the people of Africa. Victor is deaf, he was saved through a ministry of the Christian Mission for the Deaf in Nigeria in 1974 and he was baptized by immersion in water by missionary Andrew Foster in 1977. Benoite is hearing and also saved. She is fluent in English and French as well as American and French Sign Languages. Victor and Benoite's desire is to serve in the building of Deaf Baptist churches in West Africa. They plan to return to Africa to build Bible College programs for the deaf there. They will use these as preacher training institutions. Victor attended Africa Bible College for the Deaf in Ibadan, Nigeria and the Bible Institute of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. In addition he holds a BS, MS and a Ph.D. in Bilingual Special Education.
