“The client wanted to block out sunlight from damaging her art. But it was tricky: This was for a small window 16 feet high that wouldn’t be operational. First, I priced out a custom oval shutter from Hunter Douglass to match other shutters in the home, but it cost a small fortune. I said I could get creative and make something custom.

I contacted the client’s decorator to see if they had any leftover mishap shutters, and luckily they did. I used the louvers (slacks that are horizontal), cut them to size, and made the frame. Then I matched the color to the other shutters in the home, and painted. I installed, and pointed the louvers up to the client’s preference, so the sunlight was always pointing in the direction away from the art, and so they wouldn’t have to worry about it again.

We solved her problem and saved her a bunch of money. The client was very happy because the work fit her needs perfectly.”

We worked with on this very cool yurt! She wanted a campy look so we went with canvas on the windows with leather belts. We also made the upholstered partition and little bench. 🛖
