ESP

My name is Jake, and being a part of ESP has changed the way I see the world. 🌍
When I first came to ESP, I thought I was there to make a difference in someone else’s life.
I quickly realized I had it backwards.
Our members have taught me more about compassion, joy, patience, and acceptance than I could have ever taught them. What started as volunteering led me to become an intern, then a summer staff member, and now I’m honored to serve as a Program Coordinator at ESP Athens.
ESP changes lives—including mine.
The reason these life-changing moments happen every day is because of a community that believes every person belongs. Your generosity creates opportunities for friendships, growth, and experiences that impact not only our members, but every volunteer, staff member, and family who walks through our doors.
Thank you for making stories like mine possible. I hope you’ll click the link in bio so we can make even more stories come to life. 🎉
One week later, and we’re still not over it! ⛳️
The 7th Annual Big Ball Fore All Celebrity Golf Tournament was truly a day to remember.
Because of our incredible community, 160+ golfers, 20 amazing sponsors, and 50 dedicated volunteers came together to raise funds in support of ESP’s mission to create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families.
To everyone who played, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and cheered us on—thank you. Your generosity is changing lives, strengthening our community, and making moments that will last a lifetime.
We’re still smiling, still celebrating, and already counting down until next year! 💙🏌️

Two years ago, our family was introduced to ESP and we instantly knew we’d found something special.🧡
Before volunteering, I knew it was an incredible organization. But once our family got involved, I experienced firsthand the impact it had on participants, families and volunteers alike.
Our son Cooper has found a place where he truly belongs through summer camp, talent shows, and friendships that have helped him shine. Watching his confidence grow inspired me to serve on the Champion Board so I can help more families experience what ours has.
Today, volunteering is something our whole family shares. Ava volunteers and is a marketing intern, Dave donates his time creating event swag, Brady is back as a summer camp counselor, and Cooper continues to thrive as a proud member.
Serving with ESP has shown me that everyone deserves to be known, loved, and belong. That’s why I give my time, and why I hope you’ll join me in supporting this mission.

And a special shoutout to our incredible member caddies for helping make this event possible.
We can’t wait to see everyone at Big Ball Fore All on Monday! 🎉🏌️♂️

“My name is Isabella, and serving with ESP has changed the way I see the world.
Volunteering with Extra Special People, Inc. has changed me more than I could have imagined. It’s reshaped how I understand joy, resilience, and belonging.
I was first drawn to ESP through college friends in Athens. After returning home to Savannah, I became a volunteer myself. What I found is a community where connection is mutual—while we show up to serve, we leave changed too.
I still think about a mother I met while volunteering at a local clinic. She felt completely alone and struggled to find support or opportunities for her son...until I shared what ESP offers. Watching hope return to her face reminded me how powerful simple connection can be.
ESP has given me a new lens on the world. Watching members face challenges with such positivity, hope and joy has changed the way I see adversity and everyday life. The joy at ESP is contagious and it stays with you long after an event ends.
I know that these moments are only possible because of the support of our community.
Will you join me in making a gift today to support ESP?”
