On the annual eighth grade field trip to Washington, D.C., students themselves are the tour guides, delivering thoughtfully researched presentations on national monuments, museums, and historical figures across the city. The trip – a capstone of the Atrium experience – explores the rich history, culture, and architecture of the capital and our nation. We round out the itinerary with lunch at the legendary Ben's Chili Bowl, service at DC Central Kitchen, paddle boats, and nightly trivia contests.

Atrium’s seventh graders returned this week from their immersive four-day Ecoliteracy field trip to Cape Cod. Between population sampling in the salt marsh, habitat analysis of a cedar swamp, and crafting place-based poetry in the evenings, there was plenty of time for games, ice cream, and class bonding.

Step into a different world! Whether exploring outer space, falling into a video game, or adventuring through the perilous woods, our fifth graders brought imagination to life during their short story unit. Through detailed story maps and character outlines, rough drafts and meticulous editing, these tales mark the culmination of weeks of dedicated work and creativity in the Visionaries classroom.
