Dining Room Corner

Center:
Mahogany n gold Victrola crank record player (1926 RCA). Bought for $50 and carried down three stories of a Brooklyn brownstone. When I opened the drawer, tucked underneath was a concert poster from Fort Greene Park, dated 1928 in perfect condition.

On top:
A group of animal art prints by Ryan Berkeley, collected over time. Originals picked up through Renegade Craft Fair starting around 2011.

Next to them:
A 3D MetroCard sculpture I got around 2005, back when my friend Abby was dating a hippie artist who collected MetroCards from the subway and sold these on the street.

Beside that:
Small twisty toy sculptures from (2026) and ’s portrait books, a Christmas gift picked up from an exhibition in Chicago in 2020.

Record player I actually use:
A Numark portable turntable and a rotating slice of my vinyl collection only part of it, but obviously heavy on but just got the new record from my kids haha

On the wall:
Two charcoal drawings on matzah paper with white-wash backgrounds by , made while he was living in New York City around 2007.

On the shelves:
Ceramic figures by (2003), an origami silver necklace by (2007), a glass vase by (2006), and college-era artwork by Dan McPherson friend, roommate, and constant inspiration collected in 2005 when we were living like creative animals in the Opera House Lofts in Bushwick.

Also here:
A watercolor by Sea Bright Studio, received as a gift in 2011, paired with a meaningful art pieces I own, made by my friend’s sister.

Personal pieces:
A sculpture made of rocks by my youngest child next to my father’s funeral card (RIP), with a small fairy made by my neighbor Connie just above it.

More on the shelves:
Glass orbs by glass artist , a # custom Dunny (2004) , Max figurines by Max Steiner (2022), sculptures by Will Haude (2024), and an ESPO match piece from 2020 made with vintage matches.

Dining Room Gallery Wall 2

Center: Swoon (Cali/Caledonia Curry) 3-color silkscreen on hand-painted paper, signed & numbered edition (5/300), c. 2014. One of my favorite pieces ever and the heart of this wall. I bought it from her on release , still can’t believe I own it (wish I bought three hah forever my favorite street artist).

Top left: Another Swoon much earlier silkscreen on fabric, scored at my friend’s gallery Ad Hoc. Artist ramping up before she truly blew up , same creative family as .

Right: Kristin Virus 2-color silkscreen on ¾″ ply wood, picked up at a NYC market.

Above right: Ben Plant 2008 charcoal and white paint wash on (funny enough) same matzah paper that Kristin Virus used .. I might know a spot …

Top middle: Paper + ink on birch by a woman I can’t quite place — made around 2008, SVA alum connected through

In the window: A huge hand-painted piece but the “map woman “ by Kristen Sparenborg from her 2021 collection and got from her move sale, snagged when she was heading from East to West Coast. But we shared a really amazing creative friendship until she did !!
