Last night was the WORST fireworks season we have had. Since the poisoning several dogs are now sound sensitive, Etta being the most terrified. She shook for hours despite everything I tried. Some moments she wanted to be comforted by jumping in my lap and burying her head in my hands and between me and the chair arm and some times she wanted to be in her crate. Even dog trainer sometimes fail to solve this type of reaction. Tonight, she gets even more meds just incase.

Neonate puppies cannot regulate their own body temperature and can die if they are not kept at an appropriate temperature. After a bad storm left some our area out of power for almost 2 weeks , a couple years ago I installed a small solar system in my basement to run a single window air conditioner, a heating pad and a fridge if we lost power while I had a litter of puppies. Because my house is so small I’m using it to supplement the whole house AC during this heat wave. It’s nice to have 6-8 hours of free AC in this blistering heatwave. Solar isn’t hard anymore.
