Vanderbilt University’s Innovation Ambassadors program is helping faculty navigate innovation, intellectual property, and commercialization through peer-led support.

Led by the Vanderbilt Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CTTC), the initiative equips faculty ambassadors to connect colleagues with the guidance and resources needed to move research beyond the lab.

The program also encourages researchers to engage with technology transfer earlier, helping them consider pathways to real-world use while their work is still taking shape.

Since launching in 2022, Vanderbilt’s approach has become a national model for building a more collaborative and accessible culture of innovation.

The Senate Judiciary Committee held its hearing on the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act on Tuesday. Former USPTO Director Andrei Iancu gave a forceful statement urging that the legislation be acted upon this year.
