Congratulations to AANS/CNS Washington Committee Chair Alexander Khalessi, MD, MBA, on his appointment to HHS’s Health IT Advisory Committee (HITAC) through 2027! 👏👏👏

HITAC is one of the federal government’s premier nonpartisan advisory bodies on health information technology, AI, interoperability, and digital health.

As Chair of Neurosurgery and Chief Innovation Officer at UC San Diego Health, Dr. Khalessi will help bring frontline clinical expertise to some of the nation’s most important conversations on AI, interoperability, and the future of health technology.

He will work directly with Director Dr. Thomas Keane, an engineer and interventional radiologist whose unique blend of technical and clinical expertise continues to shape federal health IT policy.
