Join Lecture Fund for its annual Jurist Lecture, featuring Nikole Hannah-Jones, creator of The 1619 Project, examining how the enduring legacies of enslavement and racism continue to shape American political, economic, cultural, and institutional life.

Moderated by Dr. Robert J. Patterson and grounded in the framework of the 1619 Project, this event will explore why acknowledging race and racism is essential to understanding contemporary power structures, and why sustained, racially diverse dialogue, particularly within institutions of higher education, is necessary to foster collective responsibility, deeper historical awareness, and more honest engagement with America’s past and present.
