One year ago today, I went in for open heart surgery and officially became part of “the zipper club.”

In one operation, doctors repaired a bicuspid aortic valve, an aortic aneurysm, and a blocked LAD. It was one of the toughest challenges of my life, both physically and mentally.

But after 365 days, I can honestly say I feel better than ever, and I’m back to doing all the things I love most. That’s something I’ll never take for granted.

I wouldn’t be here without an incredible group of people and organizations, so I want to thank you all! A huge thanks to:

❤️ and for the unwavering support and giving me the time I needed to fully recover

And of course, the fans! Your love, support, and constant encouragement meant more than you’ll ever know.

If there’s one thing this past year has reinforced, it’s this: get your heart checked. Advocate for your own health. Ask questions. Take symptoms seriously. Heart health is no joke and early detection can change everything.
