Our science & technology office, alongside other U.S. Department of State panelists, spoke today to a group from the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Science Policy & Diplomacy Group about the work OES does to benefit the American economy through international cooperation on emerging technologies and science.

As President Trump has said, “We must blaze a trail to the next frontiers of science to cement America’s global technological leadership.”

Congratulations to Angelique Songco – the Philippines' "Mama Ranger" – for her selection as an International Women of Courage awardee. Her leadership in maritime law enforcement has dramatically decreased illegal fishing and poaching in the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, protecting these precious coral reefs and the people and animals that depend on them.
