Congratulations to Halcyon alums Joan Rukundo Nalubega and Cyprian Makongoro on being named to Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 Class of 2026.

🌿 Joan launched Uganics Repellents with just $30. The company's preventive health ecosystem has now served more than 4.5M people across eight countries, helping reduce malaria cases by nearly 90% among participating households.

🩺 Cyprian founded TibaLabs with less than $500 after witnessing the barriers to accessing advanced healthcare in his rural district in Tanzania. Today, the company has raised more than $2.5M to support the development of technologies that improve the early detection of critical cardiac conditions.

Their work is a testament to the power of locally led innovation to address some of the world's most pressing challenges. We can't wait to see how they continue to transform lives and create lasting impact across Africa and beyond.

Throughout the week, founders connected through masterclasses, product demos, pitch sessions, and hands-on experiences designed to strengthen their ventures, their leadership, and their networks.

🏢 Programming hosted at the Tecnológico de Monterrey campus explored impact storytelling, team management, and climate finance.

☁️ Sessions at the Amazon offices focused on capital strategy and product-market fit, culminating in an Ecosystem Networking Event that brought together investors, entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders, and sustainability leaders from across the region.

💭 We closed the week with reflection and intentional planning, energized for the months ahead as the cohort continues through the program toward our final in-person residency in October.
