To accelerate access to digital inclusion for Africa’s future, public frameworks are combining with grassroots advocacy and private-sector innovation.
At the Inclusive Africa Conference,it was clear that the host organization inABLE is devoted to driving this movement by training individuals with disabilities and spearheading regional ICT accessibility standards, while the government of Kenya, through the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy is establishing vital policy foundations and constructing inclusive state regulatory infrastructure.
Concurrently, global tech giants are breaking down continent-wide barriers directly through product engineering and strategic investments. Google is embedding accessibility directly into its product ecosystems to advance digital language inclusion and localized mobile standards, while Microsoft is supporting the ecosystem by strengthening inclusive digital infrastructure and aligning its enterprise software with local regulatory frameworks and launching inclusive AI tools.
Furthering these collective efforts, is the newly launched Assistive Technology Landscape in Africa Report , commisiomed by the Mastercard Foundation, is providing a vital, continent-wide evidence base assessing all 54 African nations. By exposing severe delivery gaps and highlighting local tech manufacturing opportunities, this report is serving as a strategic investment roadmap to ensure future innovations are leaving no one behind.
Accelerating digital accessibility in Africa is indeed a collective effort and we acknowledge every individual and institution continuing to this.

The Assistive Technology Showcase was undoubtedly the heartbeat of the Inclusive Africa Conference 2026 . It was incredibly inspiring to witness firsthand the brilliant minds redefining the landscape of accessibility across the continent.
This part of the proved that Africa is not just participating in the global digital accessibility movement. We are leading it.

In a rapidly digitizing world, access to technology is no longer a luxury but a fundamental right for every citizen.
Government and private sector leaders gathered at the Inclusive Africa Conference 2026 to map out an equitable digital future for the continent. The message of was loud and clear: foundational inclusion is the only way forward.
Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, E.G.H., Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of ICT & Digital Economy, emphasized the role of governance in this shift:
“As governments continue to digitize services and economies become increasingly technology driven, access to digital technologies is becoming a prerequisite for participation in modern society. Effective communication that is inclusive must be prioritized in digital innovation.”
