PIMD Participates in U.S.–Senegal Executive Business Roundtable 🇺🇸🇸🇳

On July 10, 2025, PIMD participated in the historic U.S.–Senegal Executive Business Roundtable, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and featuring Bassirou Diomaye FAYE, President of the Republic of Senegal. The roundtable convened top executives from across the U.S. private sector to explore strategic investment opportunities in key sectors of Senegal’s economy, including oil and gas, technology, and tourism.

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye shared insights on Senegal 2050 vision and his administration’s reform agenda aimed at creating a more transparent, investor-friendly environment. He highlighted key initiatives, including the modernization of the investment code, customs procedures, and broader reforms aimed at promoting good governance and regulatory clarity. These efforts are designed to attract and facilitate both local and foreign investment across strategic sectors.

PIMD Founder Mamadou Samba highlighted a strong interest in capacity building and technical assistance to support Senegal's transformation agenda, aiming to enhance local capacity and promote good governance.

This week was all about partnerships. In New York, I met with the Senate of the Ivory Coast and the Consulate General to discuss enhancing governance, leadership, and policy programs. Later in Washington, DC, I enjoyed a luncheon with Zoe Cooper Thomas, Omar Arouna, Kelfala Lebbie, Algene Sajery focused on "Partnership for Purpose & Impact." Hosted by Taa Wongbe, member of the Liberian Parliament, this discussion centered on best practices and innovative ideas to advance agricultural production & supplies chain, food security, and investment, among other topics. These exciting discussions and collaborative efforts are paving the way for meaningful progress and mutual growth.
