GAIT pays tribute to the memory of former congressman Charles B. Rangel. David’s first steps on Capitol Hill were as an intern in The Chairman’s office representing New York’s 13th district. We’re so proud to announce on his birthday, the David Baldwin Barnes Intern Stipend is open for applications!

Working without pay for several weeks is a barrier on the pathway to Capitol Hill for many young minority professionals. So GAIT is providing a $2,500 stipend to a Black unpaid congressional intern to support them this summer.

If you know an eligible intern, tell them to apply at theGAITfoundation.org/intern before August 14.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the campaign to raise funds to support initiatives like this. If you would like to contribute, visit theGAITfoundation.org/donate.
