Twenty two years later, my daughter became the fourth when her boyfriend tried to kill her and threatened the life of their baby girl, Promise. I decided right then and there, I would not let Promise be the fifth. With a family history of four generations of mothers and daughters (my grandmother, my mother, myself and my daughter) that suffered and survived 60+ years of domestic violence, I have vowed to break the cycle of violence in my family, and make a difference for others as well. Saving Promise is the hope for a safe and secure future for our children, our grandchildren, and all those who will follow.
