For more than 90 years, World Learning has worked to create a more peaceful and just world. Our education, development, and exchange programs help people find their voices, connect with their communities, strengthen the institutions that form the backbone of a democratic society, and build relationships across cultures. With our support, these emerging leaders tackle critical global issues like poverty, conflict, and inequality.

This , we celebrate our TESOL trainers. World Learning’s global network includes 165 licensed trainers who teach American English to participants worldwide. Among them is Michael Griffin, who has been with World Learning for more than a decade.

With over 25 years of experience in English education and training, Michael brings deep expertise in teacher education, reflective practice, and curriculum development. Hear his reflections from a recent training below!

“I was impressed by how participants took ideas about workshop design and adapted them to fit their own teaching communities and practical realities. I was especially struck by the shift in perspective—from viewing professional development as telling teachers what to do, to creating experiences where teachers actively engage with ideas and reflect on their practice.”
