Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of President Jimmy Carter. The above picture was taken in our home city of Newcastle. On his visit, President Carter was adopted as a Geordie after proclaiming in a speech “Howay the lads”, a local expression associated notably with . He will continue to be held fondly in the memories of geordies

This weekend the UK has celebrated the unparalleled feat of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We have seen the best that Britain has to offer to honour 70 glorious years. A fitting tribute to our country’s longest reigning monarch.

We are unbelievably fortunate to have a sovereign so dedicated to our country who continues to serve with such dignity and inspiration.

We can only say, simply, thank you ma’am.
