The Church of Saint Simeon Stylites, located in the northwestern part of Aleppo, Syria and known locally as Qal'at Siman, is one of the oldest surviving church complexes, traced back to the 5th century.

Saint Simeon Stylites, a Syrian ascetic saint, found an abandoned column rising out of the stand while wandering in a desert near modern-day Aleppo. He climbed the pillar and stayed there for 37 years and died in 459 AD. A few decades after his death, the church was built on the site of his pillar.

The church is considered the greatest treasure from the Christian-Byzantine era in Syria and has faced destruction by wars. It is one of Syria's "dead cities" or "forgotten cities" which were declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, under the name "Ancient Villages of Northern Syria"
