If you are looking for a real way to kick off Juneteenth weekend, pull up to The Liberation Link Up: Artistically Black on Friday, June 19 from 6 PM to 10 PM at Marygrove Conservancy.

This is an upscale evening built around music, culture, connection, and Black creativity in full color. Expect live music, small bites, curated experiences, local artists, and a room full of good energy.

And it gets even better. This is not just a celebration. It is also a chance to directly support Black artists in our city. $5,000 will be awarded to Detroit based artists of African descent through a community grant competition, and the people in the room help decide who receives it. Your ticket, your vote, and your presence all help put real dollars behind Black creativity.

Come dressed to impress. Cocktail attire is encouraged and all guests will be carded.

Our guy over at Black Fridays Podcast are opening the door for young creatives in Metro Detroit 🎙️🔥

Black Fridays is now accepting applications for their summer internship opportunities, and this is a solid chance for somebody 18 to 24 to get real hands on experience with a growing media platform centered on Black entrepreneurship, business ownership, and community impact.

They are looking for two interns from late June through the end of August:

Admin & Social Media Intern
Guest scheduling, social media posting, content calendars, episode transcriptions, and live event coordination.

Production & Editing Intern
Podcast editing, short form content creation, recording sessions, tech setup, and live event production.

This is a hybrid opportunity for applicants in the Metro Detroit area with reliable transportation.

Round 1 Gaming Lab pulled up for one of their community days, and like always, it was a good time from start to finish. Good people, family energy, kids excited, and that steady line at the trailer all event long.

That is the kind of stuff we love being part of. Neighborhoods coming together, families outside, kids having fun, and the community getting something positive to enjoy.
