Highway 96

Sunday, June 30 will be the last day of Highway 96. The radio station has been sold, and on Monday it will have a different format on that frequency. I am very proud of what the late Bill Boys did to build that station. I told him exactly what I wanted – a station that played only 70s and 80s rock and roll – and he created a great radio station. Unfortunately, it has not been successful in attracting enough advertisers in the Houston County area. And once Bill died two months ago, it became clear what I had to do. I know a lot of you are disappointed in this decision. I am, as well. But this is a business, and unfortunately, while we were successful in gaining fans of the station, it never translated to business. I appreciate all of the advertisers we had, the hard work by Bill and Chris Rogers and Greg Grantham, and I can’t thank all of you enough for listening.
