Egg shells are made up of calcium, magnesium, protein & organic matter. The shell material is deposited near the end of the egg laying process. The color is added after the shell. Sometimes there can be extra calcium deposits on the egg shells as seen on a few of these eggs. The eggs are perfectly fine. They just got hit with added calcium deposits. Colors of eggs can vary from breed of chicken, age of chicken & sometimes that internal paint sprayer seems to get jammed. The end result is a speckled look to the eggs. The shape of the eggs can be different also. None of these anomalies change the taste of the egg itself. The color of the egg does not effect the taste either. The things that effect the taste of the egg are what the chickens eat & their living environment. Free range chickens foraging & getting minimal supplemental feed will always lay better tasting eggs. There is a big difference between eggs from free range chickens & chickens kept confined in small spaces force fed feed high in growth hormones & antibiotics.
