Butler Bait Shop

Sitting on a rocky sand beach in cape cod I cast out my 10' okuma surf rod. Equipped with my hand tied high low rig. Sporting squid on both gamamatzu 1/0 hooks. No wave action, but shallow for a piece so I put on a 3 oz pyramid sinker. A wade out to belly deep and a fling of the rist and my rig is 300 yards from shore. The tide is low, but rising at a slow pace. With a sail boat race in front of me there is action to kill the time, but not enough to keep me from the soul sucking scroll of social media. Thirty minutes had passed. Then to my pleasure I stumbled upon a share from Jim Butler. It was my grand father being interviewed for Kentucky Afield. Listening to his voice filled my mind with memories and my eyes with tears. Towards the middle of the video I noticed something tapping my line ever so subtly. My first thought is crab. No big deal I am mostly fishing for fun. As the video continues and my face is becoming as salty as the water before me the line goes slack. Now I know I have a fish and I contemplate the chances of my grandfather's spirit being involved. As I get my catch in it becomes dead weight. Did I lose it? Is it swimming straight at me? Nope. It's a damn sea turtle. At this point I was certain Frank Butler had a hand and a giggle at this s**t show on a crowded beach of tree huggers.
