Thank you so much to Mayor Klinakis Charlie Klinakis of La Puente for such a warm welcome inviting me to celebrate Independence Day! La Puente throws a great celebration every year on July 3rd at their park.

If you’re still looking for somewhere to celebrate on the 4th, come by our Suzanne Park in the city of Walnut- hope to see you there!

Happy 4th of July! God bless the USA! 🇺🇸

Monthly S**G Transportation committee meeting! Great presentation to hear about all of the LA28 initiatives to streamline transportation during the upcoming Olympics- we’re only 2 years out! Which will come back to us more finalized during our September meeting. We were also joined by high school students from Artesia! I had the honor to talking to these civically engaged students about how to get more involved and learn about local government!

Honored to attend the grand opening of DCC (Delhaven Community Center) Climbing Gym! This is located in City of La Puente but services our surrounding communities for afterschool programs, especially providing services for disabilities. Congratulations and thank you for your services to the surrounding students and special needs population.

This morning I kicked off the CFI Kids Walnut 5K! Great to see so many young people out and active on an early Saturday morning. I’m so glad to see residents and community members enjoying Walnut. This program is celebrating their 10th anniversary and is free to youth! Thanks for having me!

Happy inaugural “I ❤️ SGV Day”! Today is 6/26 (just like our famous area code 626), and marks the first annual SGV Day! I was excited to attend the SGV Legislative Caucus event, and had a chance to speak to our legislators, as well as the legislators who represent the San Gabriel Valley. Always great hearing from them, especially during their busy state budget season negotiations.

Just finished up at the LA County City Selection Committee Meeting! The City Selection Committee is attended by Cities in LA County for holding seats for regional activities. I attended the meeting on behalf of our Walnut Mayor (as the mayor is the usual delegate to city selection). Congratulations to Vice Mayor Jeff Wood on your appointment to the LA County library commission and the new Chair, Corey Calaycay of Claremont!

Last week the City of Walnut held its first annual SERVICE night celebration, which recognized our LA County Sheriffs department, Walnut Explorers program, reserve deputies, and station volunteers for their hard work and dedication to our community. Their work is inspiring and our city is a safer place with their ongoing efforts and dedication.

Stopped by the SGV legislative reception last week in the City of San Gabriel. Great to see and chat with our local and state legislators working to represent the San Gabriel Valley.
