Not every shipment goes according to plan.
We recently had a load headed from Connecticut to Texas when the truck suffered a major transmission failure in Louisiana. What should have been a short delay turned into more than a week, and it became clear the best solution was to recover the freight and transfer it to another truck.
That's exactly what our team did.
They stayed on top of the repair shop, coordinated the transfer, kept everyone informed, and made sure the freight kept moving. It took patience, persistence, and a lot of after-hours phone calls, but we got the job done.

Last week was a good one.
As part of what we've been calling the Fenichey Summer Road Tour, Vin started in Fort Worth, made his way to Wichita, and wrapped things up in Kansas City. He got to catch up with some familiar faces and spend time meeting some new ones too.
One thing about this business is we spend a lot of time behind screens, on calls, and moving fast. You don’t always get enough chances to sit down face to face.
But those relationships matter, and they're such a huge part of what we’ve built at Fenichey.
Fenichey has always been a family business, and not just because family happens to work here. Our agents are part of it too.
From the beginning, the goal was never to build a place where people felt like numbers, but to build something people wanted to be part of.

Last week on the Fenichey Summer Road Tour, Vin was so excited to catch his favorite band, RUSH, while he was in Fort Worth.
Then earlier that day, he got the email that the show was being rescheduled to July 2... when he'll already be back in North Carolina. Definitely a disappointment.
But he had to laugh because if that isn’t the most freight thing ever, he doesn't know what is. You make the plan, something changes, and you adjust.
So instead, he had a great dinner with Kristina and Melinda from Highway, enjoyed some time in Fort Worth, and kept doing what he went there to do: spend time with the network and connect with freight agents.
