Today is National Hydration Day.
Forget the old saying, 8 glasses of water a day. That doesn’t make sense for both a 90 lb. woman and a 300 lb. man to drink the same amount. .
On an average day without much activity, take your weight and ➗ by 2️⃣ to give you the amount of ounces of water to drink. .
On days when it’s hot, and/or you’re very active and sweating, you should be adding on to what this chart states. .
Coaches for all outdoor sports should be offering plenty of hydration breaks. Athletes should never feel embarrassed if they need to run off the field to drink more water. .
Extended practices with minimal or without water breaks does not make an athlete tougher, it can cause neurological damage, organ damage and even death. .
Some symptoms of dehydration include:

🔹Dark colored urine
🔹Dizziness/light-headedness
🔹Dry mouth
🔹Headaches
🔹Thirst
🔹Weakness
🔹Confusion
🔹Fatigue
