Welcome back to team Tatum Williams! 🤩

After a few years away, Tatum returned to the TI Family last month joining the People Team as our new Governance Manager. We caught up with a few questions to get to know her better 🎙️👯

🎙️What was your first job and how has it shaped your career?

My first job was hostessing at Buffalo Wild Wings and it shaped my career in ways I’ve only come to appreciate in adulthood. Underpinning almost every job is some degree of customer service - whether that "customer" be an outside client or internal colleague, you need to be able to work with people. This requires being patient, flexible, and kind, and understanding the value of extending grace to others, following through on tasks and deliverables, and communicating clearly 🥰

🎙️What most excites you about being back at Trader Interactive?

In the years since last working at Trader, I've grown tremendously in my career in the employment governance and compliance space; knowing that I can bring that specialized experience and knowledge as new Governance Manager into a space that needs it as it further hones its cultural and company identity is incredibly motivating and exciting.

🎙️What's the best professional advice you've ever received?

"Learn to accept mediocrity in others." When a former mentor told me this, I was taken aback and didn't understand how it wasn't an offensive and impractical mindset. But now, I have a better understanding of the real meaning behind it: learning to accept mediocrity is relative, and most often simply means learning to accept that not everyone is going to do something how you would, and that's okay - my way of doing things isn't always superior and another way of doing things isn't inferior 🙌

🎙️And finally, tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I’ve never met anyone with the same first name as me…
