To know her is to love her! If you haven't met Tara, you are in for a treat. She has been called "The G.O.A.T" by clients but is also just as happy being called "mom" by her girls. Get to know Tara Dietz, LMT...

What types of clients or concerns do you love working with most?
My favorite client is the newbie to the world of wellness. The first-time massage client is an open book of wonders. I love to hold the space that allows the client to discover self-healing. Once they realize that THEY are the true healers, I love assisting them on their wellness journey.

What does a “great session” look like to you?
A great session looks like when the client returns, and they have leveled up in their wellness. They have released what holds them back and made room for more personal improvement- better range of motion, less body tension, more mental confidence.

What’s something clients might be surprised to learn about you?
I love to play darts and practicing at the shooting range with my husband.

How would you describe your energy or presence in a session?
During session, my energy is almost absent in a way. I really tune into the client's field and mirror their breath. Empathic but grounded in my own field to keep a healthy boundary line.

Favorite local spot (coffee, food, beach access, hidden gem)?
Badass Coffee in the vibe district & Porter Island in Sandbridge

Your perfect day off in Virginia Beach—what does it look like?
End of summer after the tourist season, fresh fruit and tuna salad on the beach watching my kiddos swim.

What’s a memorable client moment that stayed with you?
A first-time mom felt her baby kick for the first time during her prenatal massage. This was before I had kids and I was so amazed of the mother-baby connection.

What’s your favorite feedback you’ve ever received?
I have a scoliosis client, and they felt relief for the first time in their QL after weeks of working on trigger points in the surrounding area.

Go-to music: The Red Clay Strays, Jerry Garcia

Favorite scent or oil?
Beef tallow infused with Juniper Oil from Doterra

Moxa what????

A remedy used in acupuncture, it’s one of the oldest tools used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Moxibustion involves the burning of a therapeutic herb called mugwort near specific acupuncture points to gently warm the body, stimulate circulation, and support healing.

And no… it isn’t scary or painful.

Most clients describe it as deeply calming, grounding, and comforting — like a slow penetrating warmth that reaches places heat pads can’t quite touch.

So why do acupuncturists use it?

Because in Traditional Chinese Medicine, many symptoms are believed to worsen when the body becomes too “cold,” depleted, stagnant, or deficient in energy flow. ✨

Moxa is often used to support:

• Chronic tension + pain
• Low energy or fatigue
• Digestive sluggishness
• Menstrual discomfort
• Fertility support
• Stress + nervous system regulation
• Cold hands and feet
• Immune support
• Circulation and recovery

In modern terms, many people simply notice:
“I feel more relaxed.”
“My body feels warmer and less tight.”
“I slept incredibly afterward.”
“I feel calmer but energized at the same time.”

And honestly… the ritual itself is part of the experience.

The warmth.
The scent.
The slowing down.
The feeling of your body finally being cared for instead of pushed through another stressful week.

Acupuncture isn’t always just needles.

Sometimes healing looks like warmth, stillness, and helping the body remember how to regulate again and moxibuation is sometimes integrated with needle treatment. ❤️‍🔥
