of one of the official photographs from the Opening Ceremony of Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah), which was held at Yad Vashem earlier tonight.

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of the President of the State of Israel, the Prime Minister, dignitaries and Holocaust survivors.

from StandWithUs: Ahead of Israel's Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) tomorrow, Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics reported that there are currently about 165,000 people living in Israel who are survivors of the Holocaust. The memory of the Holocaust is fading as the years pass.

Soon, there will be no more survivors left to give a firsthand account of the horrors of the Shoah. It is therefore our duty to share the story of the Holocaust in honor of those who endured it and for the sake of future generations to come. 🕯️
