Freddie and Lisa Thomas-McMillan, founders of Drexell & Honeybee's in Brewton, Alabama, serve soul food with no prices and no cash registers. Their donation-only restaurant feeds everyone, regardless of ability to pay, using contributions to cover costs. Their mission: to fill hearts and stomachs with love and dignity.

Mamie “Peanut” Johnson, the trailblazing female pitcher in the Negro Leagues, will be honored with a Washington, D.C. intersection named in her memory. The new “Mamie ‘Peanut’ Johnson Plaza” will be located at Florida Avenue and New York Avenue NE, celebrating her historic achievements with the Indianapolis Clowns. This tribute recognizes her pioneering spirit and enduring legacy.
