Victoria ISD Superintendent Sheila Collazo recently participated in the City of Victoria, Texas - Government inaugural Growing Victoria Summit, joining a panel of education leaders to discuss how education plays a key role in the continued growth and prosperity of our community.
Ms. Collazo joined:
๐ Dr. Jennifer Kent, President of Victoria College
๐ Dr. Christian Hardigree, President of Texas A&M University-Victoria
๐ John Gilley, President of St. Joseph High School - Victoria, TX
The discussion was moderated by former State Representative Geanie Morrison, who served District 30 in the Texas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2025.
Together, the panel discussed how strong schools help build a strong community, and how community growth, workforce development, and educational opportunities are closely connected.
When schools, colleges, universities, and community partners work together, it helps create pathways for students while supporting the long-term success of the entire Victoria community.
Victoria ISD appreciates the opportunity to participate in conversations that support the future of our students and our city.
