Fraud Alert: A money mule is someone who transfers illegally obtained money for someone else. Even if you think it's a legitimate job or a favor, it can still be a crime. As part of Operation Riptide, is raising awareness of cyber-enabled scams.

🚩Watch out for these red flags:
🔹You’re contacted about an “easy money” job that involves using your bank account or opening a new one.
🔹A social media or online “friend” asks you to receive and forward money without more information.
🔹The person offering the opportunity avoids professional details.
🔹You’re told to transfer money via wire, prepaid cards, cryptocurrency, or money services.
🔹 You’re promised a cut of the money just for moving it.

Texans lost $56 Million last year by way of Crypto ATMs.. these are often used by scammers to trick victim into buying by converting cash to crypto then texting them a picture of the “code” which allows scammers to then transfer crypto to them.

Crypto kiosks were used to scam $56 million from Texans last year. Lawmakers are calling for regulation.
