At SOAR Summer String Camp, music isn't the only thing that soars!

One of the most inspiring experiences of the week is our aviation adventure, where campers explore the wonder of flight and discover how the same qualities that help musicians succeed—focus, discipline, courage, and creativity—also help pilots take to the skies.

Through hands-on flight experiences and aviation exploration, students are encouraged to dream bigger, reach higher, and see new possibilities for their future.

At SOAR, we believe that learning happens both on and off the stage. Whether performing with confidence, catching a wave, or experiencing the excitement of aviation, campers are challenged to discover their potential and unleash new horizons.

🎻 Meet Dr. Aramis J. Ruiz-Ruiz 🎻

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Aramis Ruiz-Ruiz has dedicated more than 20 years to the artistry of cello performance, music education, and empowering students through music.

After moving to Florida in 2012, he earned a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in Performing Arts Administration and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida, followed by a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a cognate in Music Education from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.

Passionate about community outreach, Dr. Ruiz-Ruiz has taught violin, viola, cello, and double bass students of all ages through university and nonprofit programs serving diverse communities. His teaching philosophy centers on the belief that music is a powerful force for personal growth, self-expression, and positive transformation.

At SOAR Summer String Camp, Dr. Ruiz-Ruiz inspires students to develop not only strong musicianship, but also confidence, creativity, body awareness, critical thinking, and lifelong habits that help them thrive both on and off the stage.
